A new IISD Experimental Lakes Area brief reports results from a reusable takeout cup pilot at Sam’s Place in Winnipeg. Over three months, 155 cups were borrowed and 97% were returned.

The brief recommends clear customer communication and a city-level waste reduction strategy to support wider adoption. The findings demonstrate one local trial, rather than a city-wide rollout.
